Miriam/Mariam (01JR1) Parkes
(1771, NY – 1853, NY) (Represented) m. Darius Tallman II (1767, NY – 1845, NY) 7 March 1792, Cambridge, Washington Co., NY. This is a particularly messy lineage, and may not even be a Park/e/s line as noted below. Much conflict in birth dates; Children are listed in order of best discernable information available.
Various family researchers report the surname as “Parker” instead of “Parkes”. It would be unusual to find the –es version of the Park/e/s surname in New York or New England areas. It ought to be noted that sometimes the way a final “s” might have been written, it was taken as “Parker” versus “Parkes”. But then again, due to the fact that one child has the middle name of “Parker” leads us to feel that this is actually a Parker line, not Park/e/s. Further research has failed to turn up any ancestral connections for either Parkes or Parker.
